Sunday, September 17, 2017  | Pastor Kirk Welch

As a Christian, you are in the world, but distinct and separate from it. In Christ and by the Holy Spirit, God has uniquely made you to be salt and light. As the salt of the earth, you must live in such a way that you provide a sting to those who are lost in their sin so that they feel the conviction and guilt over their sin and come to Jesus for healing and rescue. And you must also live in such a way that you slow down the moral decay and rottenness of the world so that more people have time and opportunity to hear the truth and are saved. Remember – when you have the character of all the beatitudes, this is the kind of life you inevitably live. This is your happy privilege in Christ – to influence and impact the world. Salt is such a brilliant way to express who we are. Pastor Kirk Welch continues in Matthew 5.

He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing. A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.
